goal -  Create a new perfume brand and product concept for a luxury Egyptian scent for him and her.
I began studying current perfume bottle designs in the market by sketching various bottles from life in order to understand in detail how they were produced.

Marketing & Branding
Brand Personality -
- Egyptian owned/produced/manufactured
- for both men and women
-sold in Egypt, as well as Internationally
- luxurious
- elegant
- sleek
Inspiration - derived from my trip to Egypt in December of 2019, where I had visited an ethnic perfumery that sold and sampled traditional essential oils.
I recalled what our Egyptologist guide had told us about Nefertum, the god of the blue lotus flower and of perfume in Egyptian mythology (pictured left).
I built the brand on Nefertum, who was recognized by his lotus flower headdress, and symbolized Egyptian class, royalty, godliness, and luxury.
Brand Logo & Colors -

I chose the blue and gold color scheme to represent the blue lotus flower and royalty.
Representing modern sophistication, the logo emblem mimics Nefertum's lotus flower headdress, and the chosen typeface (House of Cards) is bold with classy serifs.
I chose to make the logo vertical for a sense of power, tallness, and sleekness. This would also match the form of the perfume bottle that it would be placed on.

Inspiration -  During my tour, I witnessed the process of a glass blower making these distinctive traditional perfume bottles (pictured above). Initially, I toyed with emulating these, but ultimately, I decided against that idea: not only would it be appropriating their artistic practice, but taking a modern approach would be more suitable, especially for the product to be mass-produced for Western markets.
Our guide told us about the cartouche shape (pictured above), which encapsulates names of royalty in ancient hieroglyphs. I thought this would be perfect to emulate for a luxurious brand concept. The brand name 'Nefertum' would be written inside the oval shape, an homage to the original hieroglyphs.
